Sonic Spa Gong Bath

A warm welcome to you from Sonic Spa Gong Bath Meditations.

COVID-19 Update March 2020

To all our gong bath family and friends,

“Now is the time for everyone to stop non-essential contact with others and to stop all unnecessary travel." This was the statement recently released by our government.

It has been a difficult but important decision for us at Sonic Spa. Many of you have told us how important our gong baths have become for you in managing your own personal wellbeing. We’ve been grappling with this alongside our desire to continue to providing our services to you, and our need to put health and safety for all, first.

With heavy but sure hearts we have decided to temporarily stop running Sonic Spa Gong Baths, until further notice. Apologies but this Sunday 22nd March is now cancelled. If you are booked on to this session, we will be contacting you shortly to arrange a refund.

Our priority at Sonic Spa is you and your wellness. We believe that it is all of our responsibility to protect the elderly, immune-compromised and vulnerable parts of our society, along with our health care system as a whole. Though difficult for us all, it is these priorities that are at the heart of this decision.

Above all, we want you to know you are not alone, we are still here for you and we will get through this together. This beautiful community you have all helped to build is not going anywhere and it is now more important than ever that we find ways to stay connected and support each other.

In the meantime, stay safe; look after yourselves & your families.

Love Cherie & Shaun

Who are we?

Sonic Spa Gong Bath Meditations provide regular sound therapy meditation sessions using the gong and and other instruments, for groups and individuals in Andover, Hampshire, England.

We are a husband and wife (to be) team who bring a warm and friendly sound healing service to Andover in a beautiful countryside setting. Cherie is a trained Counsellor and Shaun is a member of the College of Sound Healing.

What is a gong bath?

A gong bath is a relaxing and therapeutic experience. During a gong bath you are 'bathed' in the vibration sound of the gong. Despite the name there is no water - so no need for swimsuits! The only thing you need to do is lie down on a mat (provided by us), wrap yourself in a blanket, lay your head on a pillow, close your eyes and relax. The lights will be dimmed to help you to wind down.

The session takes about an hour and the gong is not played in a recognisable pattern or rhythm. This encourages the brain to drift into a theta state, which is the early stages of sleep or in other words a meditative state. This allows the left, logical side of the brain to rest, while the right, creative (and underused) side of the brain is stimulated which can be wonderful for relaxation, healing, creative inspiration and problem solving.

What to expect?

Everyone's experience is different and unique and even if you come regularly your experience will likely to be different from the last. The gong is good for clearing emotional issues and blockages, relieving pain, stress, worry and creating a sense of calm and rejuvenation. The feeling of calm after a gong bath can last for many days after the session. People often report feeling more clarity afterwards and having more focus in their life or find a new perspective on what issues they are currently facing.

Towards the end of the session we will introduce some more instruments such as singing bowls and our beautiful bamboo wind chimes, which are aligned to the elements of earth, water, air, and fire. Finally we move into a place of silence for around five minutes before tingling some small bells to bring you gently and carefully back from your place of relaxation.

We look forward to welcoming you.
